Contact list for non-residents

Hi guys,

Would it be worth creating a list of contacts (or maybe highlighting on the existing list that's on the marysville primary website) for people who had holiday homes or rental properties in the area?

We had a house in Settlers Way in Marysville, which was being managed by David, Marlene and Karen. We're keen to rebuild and to help the town and the district get back up and running. Been in contact with Karen (through Rob and Carol who we own the house with) but I guess it will be some weeks or months before we can do much.

We would all be having the same issues with insurance, building permits, etc, etc so it might be useful to share what we have learnt.

Hi Swobies. We are working on a contact list that will hopefully be comprehensive. If you go to the trianglefamily homepage and select 'contact someone' it will open a form that you can record your details on. There is space to record extra information, such as your 'weekender' status. This list will ultimately be published on the trianglefamily website, so if you do not want your contact details made public, make sure you select the 'no' option.
As for sharing what wehave learnt, perhaps we can start a forum for just that. Several people have spoken to me this week about insurance issues, and I am sure permits will be complicated!

Hi Swobies

We had a holiday house on the corner of Lyell and Kings. I have added our details to the contact list.

The whole insurance issue seem to be fraught. It seemed a reasonable idea to pay off the mortgage while waiting for the permanent residents and the town proper to be rebuilt first but then we have to pay capital gains tax.

Also, we have a reinstatement policy, so it is better for the insurance company to rebuild than pay us cash. It appears as if we may have unknowingly been a bit underinsured although the loss assessor has not been up yet of course..

There are many traps for the unwary.
