Wondering if anyone has heard a guestimate of when the Spur will be opened.

No apparantely it is currently being control burnt and is still shut but no word on when opening

I spoke with Healesville Police station this evening (19/2). Advice for Black Spur is 'closed for weeks'.

Hey everyone who is anxiously waiting for the re opening of the spur!!! Good news! Vic Roads have said that they plan to have it all open mid next week. Fingers crossed for Wednesday hey!!! cheers

At the Narby meeting this morning, a Vicroads rep was (as usual) evasive about when the Spur would open, but did finally let on they hope it will be open later today. If not, they will do a 'locals' covoy so people can get to work - 7am from Narby through to Healesville, then 645pm a return trip.

Word on the street is that the spur is now open. They were going to open it tomorrow, but they have done it now.

Great News! I have heard this from a number of people, so it sounds like it could be true! If anyone out there has travelled the Spur could you please let us know what the conditions are like. Thanks

There's a note on the vicroads website that says the Spur is open - yay!

This is how it appears on the Vic Roads Site: "Also note: Maroondah Highway at Black Spur is now open." After all this time its an 'also note'!

My dad just called and said that when he was heading to Healesville, it isn't too bad until you get to Fernshaw, then it is all burnt. Can't wait to go shopping.....I am having withdrawals. Laughing

That's great to hear. - I mean its great that its not all gone -I had visions of it being totally wrecked, with great big trees down everywhere. Perhaps someone could post a couple of photos?

Healesville to Fernshaw - burnt pretty bad
Fernshaw picnic ground - untouched
Fernshaw to Dom Dom - lightly burnt, generally speaking
Dom Dom to Narbethong - not burnt at all

Hoping like hell, that the bit between Fernshaw & Dom Dom can recover to it's former beauty.
