Kids Art Projects Meeting

Out of the Memorial Art and Wellbeing meeting last week, we decided to begin with some kids art programs. I spoke with Crystal Journey about doing something arty with kids at their Shed Festival from 2pm scheduled for Saturday 18 April - the weekend after Easter. Linda has organised face painting and lots of balloons, and is happy for us to run a kids art tent. We are looking for volunteers with Working with Children/Police checks to help out on the day. You can get the mandatory checks as a community volunteer through Berry Street in Alexandra.
As lots of people are going away for the weekend, including me, an impromptu meeting has been arranged with Vera Gill and myself TODAY - Monday 6 April at 2pm- to kick off a steering group for running kids art groups and activities over the coming months. We'd love your input, and combining projects, if you are already onto them. We are asking art shops for donations of art materials, and would love to hear from you if you have had similar offers of assistance to pool resources.
We need an annex or large tent and some low tressel tables on the 18 April, if anyone can help?

I must be busy somewhere that I didn't attendant this meeting because I always attend such functions so that my kids can learn new things and explore their skills. I must say it was great as I read this thread and come to know about Linda's efforts.
